Step-by-Step instructions shows how to configure Live Chat Software

Step 1) Live Chat Installation Wizard

After successfully installing the Live Chat Software, when you run the software first time, the following screen appears:

Please enter the email configuration settings of the email that you want Chat Software to use for sending chat transcriptions and other auto generated emails to your customers and visitors.

  • SMTP/IMAP Server: Enter the Email SMTP/IMAP Server name.
  • Port Number: Enter the Email Server port number.
  • Email ID: This Email ID will be used to send chat transcription and other auto generated Emails.
  • User Name: Enter the authenticated user name.
  • Password: Enter the password.

Upon Clicking Next Button, the following screen appears:

Enter the following information, which will be used to create and maintain database at your server:

  • Database Server Name: Enter the Microsoft SQL Server database name on which your database will be created.
  • Database Name: Enter the Database Name.
  • Database User ID: Enter the Database User ID.
  • Database Password: Enter the Database Password.
  • Script Session Timeout: Enter the time after which you want to expire the chat session, if no activity is performed during this period.

Upon Clicking Next Button, the following screen appears along with the Message Box as shown in the figure below:

Visitors folder appears

The message box displays a message that Live Chat Software will now generate a folder ‘Visitors’ containing essential files to be uploaded on your website hosting space. These files must be uploaded to your web server in order to function chat system.

On clicking Message Box ‘OK’ button, ‘Visitors’ folder appears, you need to just copy and upload the Visitors folder on your website hosting space.

Note: If you are unable to upload 'Visitors' folder on clicking OK button in the Message box, You can also find the ‘Visitors’ folder on clicking ‘Open Visitors Folder’ button to copy and upload the ‘Visitors’ folder on your website hosting space.

After that fill the required fields when software runs at first system.

  • Admin Login ID: Enter the Admin Login ID.
  • Admin Password: Enter the Admin Password.
  • Verify Password: Retype the Admin Password to verify it.
  • Company Name: Enter the Company Name.
  • Email ID: Enter the Email ID (This Email ID will be used to recover password in case you are unable to recognize it).
  • Website URL: Enter the Website URL name (Enter the website URL address where you will upload visitors folder).

Note: When software runs on the next system all entries are shown which you have filled on first system and only Company Name, Email ID, Website URL fields are editable.

Note: Please make sure that you have uploaded the 'Visitors' folder to your web hosting space. 'Visitors' folder contains essential files that must be available on your web hosting server in order to function the chat system otherwise Message is displayed "Please upload visitors folder at your server before running this software" as shown in the figure below:

Step2) Configure Chat On Your Website

Chat Link Code (Chat link code is used to integrate Live chat button into your website)

Administrator is only required to copy (using Copy Button) and paste the following html chat link code at the website and upload it.
